seabear: a big hit with grandma
what's going on in the reykjavik music scene you ask?
seabear, man. seabear.
as stated on their website, "Seabear started out as a one man band but now we are seven. and there will be no more! As a one man band seabear self-relased the home recorded Singing Arc EP a couple of years ago. The album was a big hit with my mother and my grandmother. You can download the whole EP in the media section. The new album will come out on the wonderful label Morr Music in august/september."
as a publicist, i feel i must say that they failed to tell their story, to capture the essence of their musicianship. but let me just say, holy mother of god this is good music. if beck, wilco, bell and sebastian, and pink floyd were stranded on an iceburg, this just might be their jam-a-ram until they got rescued:

it's not going to hit you over the head the first time like dave ghrol song, but take a few minutes, push play, fold some laundry or make love and then tell me it's not giving you the happy chills.
