here is a copy of the letter i just sent to the national offices of the hertz car company:
dear hertz,
i write to tell you that i am upset about a recent experience i had with your company. on 10/18/07 i went to your battery park location in manhattan to pick up my rental car. i requested a standard car. instead i received a minivan.
i can only assume that you did this to me because i was with my three-year old daughter. i feel that i was profiled by your employee, linda harris. and while the car did live up to all of the minivan promises: roomy, easy handling, etc., it made me feel like a retard. rental cars should make you feel capricious and special, not stifled and embarrassed.
i mean, would you automatically give a mexican a low rider or an el camino? or a chrystler le baron to a senior citizen? think about it.
sincerely,
kate lacroix
