it's on

dear shawn,
you may have taken the regan dillion blast-from-the-past crown this year, but remember, "revengence" is mine. mwah ha ha ha...
two words for you: glamour shots.

i am coming to grips with the fact that my child is a tagger. every time i turn around, i find that she has left the same three letters on something of mine. on the bathroom mirror, on the refrigerator, and today, on my moleskin journal. what sort of pre pubescent angst can she possibly be carrying around in that 40 pound body? what is it, babe?
not that i'm over thinking this or anything.

fuck nigeria

hey beauty,
i was so nervous when i saw the subject header of your e-mail this morning. it brought me back to the time you called me in the wee hours and said, "cody thinks your pregnant and i think you have cancer." glad you're okay. i seriously fell all over myself this morning trying to make it down the stairs to call you. made me realize how much i love you and your little one growing inside.
i say we hit magnolia right now.
most liberating six words out there
“I don’t get it. i waited forever to have sex with him.”
“how long?”
“three weeks.”
“yeah.”
“and we had the best conversations. I mean, I read him rilke.”
“you probably should have gone with naruda.”
“yeah.”
“and he called me ‘rock star’ after we slept together.”
“maybe that wasn’t a compliment.”
“but then, he never called back.”
“he’s just not that into you”
“really?”

regan,
happy birthday! i hope you have fun in the clink. you are the best friend a girl could have. mostly because you stayed on the bull longer than i did. thank you for not allowing me to turn into a lego. and thank you for my baking goods. i'll be sure to shove them all in a back drawer somewhere. everyone knows that baking isn't real cooking anyway.
love,
kate
