strong arming

died on this day in 1553, francis xavier was a missionary and general good guy. his body is said to have remined incorrupt. in 1614, for reasons not entirely known, a jesuit priest named claudio acquviva removed xavier's right arm and took it on tour across the world. jesuit membership more than doubled during his tenure.
in 1950, a photograph of the arm was published in life magazine. a doctor's wife wrote to the magazine saying, "that's not a right arm, it's a left arm." the magazine replied, saying that can't be--the saint's left arm is still attached to his body, buried in India.

merman got some pipes
so to preface this very, very odd video, i must tell you that harper makes me sing this song to her nearly every night before going to bed. i suffer because in no way am i what you might call a big disney fan. i find animation extremely strange-especially that japanimation stuff- so when she is of the age where she is just chomping to go to disneyland, i am going to cash in one of my chips and make her father take her. because, yes, i hate it that much.
but, alas, i do have a three year old and i sing a jillion songs and kevin doesn't sing anything that doesn't tour red rocks, so it is part of my plight in life to entertain her notions of what passes for a good song. my thanks to this dude for giving me the lift i needed to carry on.

solid advice

griffin,
i had failed to understand how unhappy you are. you cover up with jokes and a front of being self-contained. i'm worried for you. don't judge yourself so harshly. why not get down from the white horse, take off the armour, and walk away from the uninterested maidens?
so- you've been making love to me from 10,000 miles away-how tantalizing. it accounts for the extreme potency of these drawings. i'll have to find a way to return the affection.
remember to be gentle with yourself.
